Open edition print of “The Lady Daphne Leaves Charlestown" by Liz Hackney, who is co-owner of Atishoo Gallery.
The Lady Daphne, a 102 year old Thames Sailing Barge, was based in Charlestown for three years until autumn 2024, when alongside other vessels she had to leave the harbour after the lock gate was severely damaged during a storm. Sadly this would be the last time she would be seen in Charlestown as a few months later she was sold and relocated back to her original home in Kent.
This gorgeous picture is printed onto fine art quality paper. Available in several different sizes, either mounted and cello-wrapped, or framed in our own workshop with a white wood frame, white mount and glazed. Please note that the larger sizes are signed by the artist.

About the artist
Liz Hackney studied at Somerset College Of Art & Technology gaining a B.A. (Hons) in Textiles and Surface Pattern Design during the mid 1990's. After spending a couple of years in Wiltshire she moved to Cornwall in 1997 setting up a small studio in St. Agnes on the north coast. During this time she developed her unusual technique using tissue paper and inks to create detailed textured collages and paintings.
She later moved to Charlestown on the south coast of Cornwall and on her 30th birthday she opened Atishoo Gallery and Picture Framers with her parents Mike & Jenny. They have now retired and she runs the gallery with her partner and fellow artist Paul Clark. The gallery celebrates 20 years at this location in 2023.
