"Charlestown Clay And Coal" is an original painting by Alan Arthurs of the beautiful village of Charlestown. This painting shows a harbour full of life with the clay being loaded onto the ships via the clay chutes, alongside the local fishing boats in the outer harbour and the origina coal yards on what are now the village car parks. The Pier House hotel can be seen and on the upper right hand side the old village school.. Charlestown is more recently famous as one of the locations for BBC 1's TV drama Poldark.
Alan's work is highly unusual as he works using enamel paints onto various surfaces, in this case onto perspex.
This painting is unframed.
