About the artist.
Inspired by figurative art from Millet to Edward Hopper, David has been an illustrator for more than 15 years. In that time he has worked for a wide variety of publishers, including Random House, Egmont, OUP, Harpercollins and Macmillan. Producing book covers for Puffin Classics like the Diaries of Anne Frank and portraits toward biographies of HG Wells by Michael Foot.
He has illustrated childrens picture books by well known writers and Poets such as Mark Haddon 'The Ice Bear's Cave' and Valerie Bloom. ('Fruits - a Caribbean counting poem'- won the bronze prize in the Smarties children’s book awards )
Originally from Oxford he has lived and worked in North Cornwall for the last ten years, drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings.
