"Once Upon A Time In Charlestown" is an original painting by Alan Arthurs of the beautiful village of Charlestown in it's china clay exporting heydays. This painting shows a harbour full of life with the clay being loaded onto the ships via the clay chutes, alongside the local fishing boats in the outer harbour. The Pier House hotel can be seen on the left hand side. Charlestown is more recently famous as one of the locations for BBC 1's TV drama Poldark.
Alan's work is highly unusual as he works using enamel paints onto various surfaces, in this case onto perspex.
This painting is supplied framed in a white wood frame, unglazed.
Measurements: image size: 43 cm x 59.5 cm.
